Day 32: More Titan Slaying, More Projects, More Books

Now in two scales, MSD and SD!

I apologize for the recent lack of interesting pictures. Most of the highlights of my day, you see, aren't really "visual" in nature and therefore cannot be taken pictures of. For example, today had been a really great day for me because me and my Web Development Team has finally formally started our first project together. While it will still be a while before the website finally takes shape, we've been making significant advances with regards to it. Since we weren't that quite familiar yet with how the web server provided by the client works, I consider being able to publish a fully functional PHP page powered by Code Igniter that can access a MySQL Database hosted in the same web server a big step forward!

Also, today, me and my Web Development Team achieved some other "success". See, the game I shared yesterday, the Shingeki no Kyojin game, is FUN. This, however, is multiplied when the game is played in multi player. Yes, there is multi player, and over LAN too! Yeah, it's perhaps a waste of time, time we could have used to work on our project, but the emphasis on sandbox style teamwork of the multi player really helps with our coordination as a team (or I'd like to think it does!).

There are no mini maps to check in the game, and while the player's name hovers over their character, if they are far away from you, you still cannot see them clearly. You can, however, communicate using signal flares, something that has been featured prominently in the anime. This, combined with clear communication, makes the game so rewarding to play as a team. We were able to clear out all the titans in the city stage, something we have trouble doing when playing alone. We died quite a number of times along the way, but we were able to do it, and we were able to score Humanity's first victory against the Titans!

Here's to hoping we also score victories in our own real world battles. Have a great day!
