Yep. Thai Food...
WARNING! Photo heavy post!
We legitimately had Thai food though! I just found it kinda funny that what I enjoyed the most in tonight's dinner wasn't really the Thai food, but the ihaw-ihaw (grilled intestines, gizzard and chicken butt). Not to say I didn't enjoy the Thai food - the Pad Thai was good and the Thai Tea was drink and dessert at the same time - but the grilled goodies were just awesome good! Looked legitimately clean too, unlike those sold in cheap roadside grills.
Yellow curry, supposedly the least spicy of the curries served in Som's. Not that it matters, I think we ordered all kinds...
Thai Calamari. It has those little spring onion pieces so I guess that makes it "Thai". All jokes aside though, this style of Calamari is really really good!
Finally, the Pad Thai, one of Som's signature dishes. Yes, this was also really really good, but it definitely is their specialty for a reason!
A bunch of friends invited me to go have dinner with them at Som's Noodle House, a Thai food restaurant in the Rockwell area of Makati. I'm not a big fan of Thai, but since I didn't have much to do today anyway, and since tomorrow is the weekend, I thought why not. It's with friends anyway, and it's bound to be fun. And indeed it was! Laughter, good food and good company all around, stories were told and jokes were laughed at. I felt kinda guilty for the times gossips were shared, but I took them with a grain of salt, and thought of them as an opportunity to learn more about my friends and their friends and their friends of friends.
Smiles, smiles all around!
I don't think she knows I'm taking her picture...
Then again, who does?
Empty plates and satisfied stomachs!
After dinner, we had a bit of difficulty going home. We walked quite a bit to get from the place where we ate to where we could get a ride home, we even passed by a mall I rarely visit, the Rockwell Power Plant Mall. I think I've only been there perhaps once or twice! We didn't go inside the mall anymore though, since it was already late and the mall was closed anyway (or at least that's what we thought, though people were still round and about the mall). After twenty minutes of waiting, we finally got a jeep that would take me and my friends to Taft, where we would part ways to go to our individual homes. Me and another friend had to take another jeep, she to get to her condo and me to get to the place where I would take a bus home. We took a wrong jeep though, so we had to transfer. I didn't really mind, but it was already quite late; we're just glad that another jeep was nearby and we didn't have to wait.
And that sums up my day for today. It was really fun to be with friends, and to go somewhere I haven't been to. It was quite an adventure; I guess I should really go out with my friends more often though perhaps next time, not this late in the evening >__< Tomorrow I work on more stuff for my girlfriend's tiangge, so I should really get some rest. Good night, and have a great day tomorrow!
