Day 11: Mom's Birthday Cake and STC Class

Starbucks Tiramisu Freezer Cake.
A fine way to celebrate anybody's birthday!

Today is my mother's birthday! While I may not enjoy the most amicable relationship with her, she has been and is still an integral part of my life. She has guided me through tough times with tough words and a tough persona, and has taken care of me when I fall ill (even if it's my fault why I did). She has also provided for a lot of things for me, and while I'm a little embarrassed to say that at my age I'm still rather dependent on her, I am proud of what my mother has accomplished in her lifetime and it would take me lifetimes (I promise I'm doing my best to get there though!) to replicate what she has done. And while she is still staunchly opposing my career path, I understand her concern, which is why I really am working as hard as I can to assuage her misgivings about it.

Happy birthday mommy!

Also, today was my first time visiting the Science and Technology Center (STC) of the University I am working for. This is the other campus I keep mentioning in my previous blogs and finally now I can talk about it. It's a very beautiful and spacious campus, surrounded by verdant fields and lush trees. The campus building itself is also very clean and very reminiscent of high school or elementary school, with classrooms lining halls in a fashion that evokes a sense of desire to learn and study. And while the facilities and amenities are still not fully in place, the computer laboratories are oriented perfectly for instruction. All in all, the campus is just really really nice and rural, a welcome break from the metropolitan main campus.

Too bad though that I couldn't take pictures. I wanted to, but my phone ran out of battery at the worst possible time. Perhaps next time I could post some pictures taken from STC. For now, may you all have a great day today and an even better one tomorrow!
