Birthday selfie!
It's my 24th birthday today! It's about time I talked a little about myself in my own blog, and I guess since it's my birthday today, perhaps there is no better time to do that!
So, hello. I am Ryan Samuel Dimaunahan, a Filipino Christian Computer Scientist and (currently) Part-Time Instructor in De La Salle University (DLSU). I'm currently taking up my Master's Degree in Computer Science in the same university, while teaching Introduction to Computer Programming and Introduction in Operating Systems. I've also worked as a web developer for Azeus Limited Inc. and for some consultation projects. I currently live with my family but the place I live in is technically somewhat of a separate house so it's the best of both worlds I guess? But I would have preferred to live independently; I think soon I'd be able to do that.
I started this blog 12 days ago because I found my days become more and more stale, like I'm wasting away the days of my life, and I hated that feeling. So I thought I should change my philosophy in life! I thought I have to have a highlight everyday, and I have to keep a record of these highlights everyday. I had actually saved the domain for this blog a long time ago, thinking I'd use it for a photo blog of sorts but that didn't really pan out so I decided to just use it for this purpose. And boy has this blog been a blessing to me! I begun to live life more fully, looking to make each day as interesting as possible so I'd have something to post on my blog. I've also begun to see how blessed I am, despite not doing quite well in some aspects of my life (mostly financially). It has really been quite a life changer; amazing how a little change in philosophy can go a long way!
Hopefully I can continue this for as long as I can. Maybe next year, on September 19, 2014, I can look back at this post and all the other posts and see how much I've grown and how great the past year of highlights has been for me :)
Anyways, that should be it about me for now :) I didn't have the greatest birthday today, but I did get Silver I in League of Legends today so I guess it was still kinda worth it. For what it's worth, I was really productive today, going through two classes, finishing a set of slides, finishing a website requirement and making it to Silver I! Tomorrow I'm going out with my girlfriend to have a little celebration and to work on the stuff she's planning to sell in Manika Manila's tiangge (small novelty shop).
Hopefully tomorrow would be another great day :)
