I think I have finally met my match.
I really love paper folding. Ever since the first time I've laid my eyes on an origami model, I've always been fascinated at how cool these things are. However complex these models are, they all started from a simple sheet of square flat paper, which is then folded over and over. Then, somehow, at the end of it all, viola! You've got yourself a little acorn, or a boat, or a monkey.
Or a dragon!
If it isn't so obvious from the image, yes, that is a dragon. Probably one of the most difficult models I've ever worked on, the creases are so finicky and the folds all too confusing at one point. I've worked on technically more difficult models but I find this to be the most difficult I've ever worked on because of that one really difficult step. Perhaps the diagram wasn't clear enough, or perhaps I'm not following the schematic properly; I don't know. Supposedly the dragon would have legs and arms, but yeah, it ended up looking more like a winged lizard than anything else.
Still, I'm going to work on this till I get it right. It's for a very important person after all, someone I'd also like to eventually feature in this blog. She has a very interesting blog of her own too, I'd link it up when I eventually get to feature her :)
Speaking of dragons, my belly still feels the wrath of the spiciness of the very late lunch I ate today. Near the University I work in, there's a restaurant called King Sisig that serves some mighty spicy sisig. Sisig is, according to my friend, a way to cook trimmings from pork or other meats that have been left over after the choice cuts have been removed. Basically, these trimmings are chopped up and marinated in lemon juice or vinegar, then are stir fried and seasoned with soy sauce, salt, chili peppers and other spices.
King Sisig gives you a choice of how spicy you want your sisig to be. I decided to go with the second spiciest option, and boy was it hot! I ate the dish about more or less four or five hours ago but I still feel like I could breath fire like a dragon at any minute! It's a must try for fans of spicy food, but be warned, the spiciest of the spicy offering they have is definitely not for the fainthearted.
Have a great Tuesday!
